Bret toyed with this track in another band who never got it right. He introduced to The End Times and the band helped flesh out the horn parts to what they are now. The middle got a lot heavier when Bret and Jay started jamming on it. Casey responded real fast with the words, and we were off to the races.
lyrics
Can’t think back to a time when things felt so low.
Can’t think back to a time when things seemed so impossible.
I look around and corruption is all I see
I walk around and pollution is all I breathe
It all seems so dead to me
We like to think we can just turn snd walk away (ha ha)
We like to think all our problems were all fixed yesterday
And we like to believe that there’s no shame - there’s no shame
We push beliefs that we don’t have to do anything
And we’re entitled to everything
And it’s all on a stage for the world to see
To anyone who has asked themselves
“Is it me? I don’t see no one else”
They’re too busy relaxing
Nevermind if you might say something wrong
Anytime, anywhere you’ll see people laughing when they don’t understand the joke
They don’t get the joke
Just keep laughing
There’ll come a time when you think that things might change (ha ha ha)
But then you’ll realize that people will believe anything - it’s embarrassing
Just remember to take some time to think things through
Or just save yourself the time and just go home
But then they go again (*might change this line to “but then they double down”)
Redemption’s seduction is wasted
And it’s all on a stage for the world to see
It’s right there on live tv
And it’s all in the air you breathe
It’s all around Cant you see?
It’s all around cant you see?
It’s all around you can’t see
